From a chiropractic perspective, much of the discomfort, illness and disease a person experiences can be traced back to the body’s inability to adapt to its existing environment, from stress, tension, and anxiety to overexertion, fatigue, accidents, and falls. These additional stresses on your body may cause the displacement, inflammation, or injury of the spine and/or other parts of the musculoskeletal system – this can lead to the irritation of the nerves they’re connected to and in turn cause pain, disease, and other physiological and psychological responses.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR VISIT
A visit to one of our Chiropractors will involve: a full consultation to discuss your past medical history, occupational habits, lifestyle and exercise habit; we will also undertake a full physical examination of the affected area and any other relevant regions of the body.
In most cases the problem will be straightforward so we will explain what is wrong and propose a treatment plan. If you are happy with this and keen to go ahead treatment may be possible at that first visit. Your treatment plan will likely consist of a short course of intensive visits for manipulation to achieve a cumulative effect and to stabilise the problem. At the end of this plan, we will review your case and advise if further management or exercises are required to maintain the improvements.
