I have worked with many physiotherapists before and I instantly knew Tae was different. - Alden Greenhouse
Tae is a Member of College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) / Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA). He is also a graduate of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BScPT) which he obtained at South Korea’s renown Yonsei University in 2008.
Tae began his career in South Korea working for several years at hospital with neurological patients (stroke, Spinal cord Injury) and in Samsung Medical Centre and Samsung Electronics as an Orthopaedic Physiotherapist (Common musculoskeletal conditions, especially neck pain and low back pain from prolonged sitting). In 2013, Tae immigrated to Canada where he completed the Physiotherapy Bridging Program at University of Toronto. His subsequent residencies included Princess Margaret and Toronto Rehab Institute at their Outpatient Orthopaedic department.
Tae’s approach is finding fundamental/underlying causes of symptom through thorough physical assessment. He also utilizes manual joint mobilization, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Technique, Therapeutic exercise, Active Rehab Program, Individualized home exercise program, Postural re-education, Vestibular Rehab, Pain control modalities (ultrasound, laser therapy) as needed.
I broke my wrist which involved surgery and started seeing Tae, the physiotherapist at St.Lawrence, and his assistant Sheila. He takes the time to explain what the problem is and how the recommended exercises will help, which motivates me to actually do them everyday. And the location is central, staff is friendly, so I highly recommend! Kristina Seo
Tae Kyong Yi is definitely the best physiotherapist I have had (his assistant Sheila is great too!). Tae is passionate about his job and finds the root of your issue rather than just treat the symptoms. Each visit, he will modify the plan to suit you and your symptoms. He explains everything well so you actually want to do your exercises but will never make you feel guilty if you didn't do your exercises as much as you should...Definitely recommend!!! Rhea Crowther
I have worked with many physiotherapists before and I instantly knew Tae was different. He took a lot of time to explain to me why I was having the pain and what needed to be done to fix it. We are working on a permanent fix instead of managing the pain for this flare-up.
Keith is a good masseuse and partners well with Tae to make sure the treatment plan is a holistic approach. I will keep going back. Alden Greenhouse
